I just picked up a Drager. Never had one before, and wasn't that interested but I got a good deal on it. Since there hasn't been much posted on these, I thought I'd post pics of the cleanup. It doesn't leak when hooked up to a tank, so at least the HP parts are good. The duckbill is very good, but the main diaphragm is not great. It might be serviceable. I don't have a clue if there are spares for these anywhere. This is the auction pic: Note the lead seals on the case ring bolts: Very clean inside: And the diaphragm, complete with bug parts:

Interestingly, the mouthpiece end hose diameter is bigger than USD, but the horn ends are smaller by a bit. This regulator could have been improved a lot by a venturi tube, or at least some kind of air director. There's nothing to get the air blast down the horn....
I think that metal triangle lever mount had possibilities as an air director with a bit of thought on the part of the designer .....

Hey Phil does that Drager have a high pressure port? Wouldn't it be cool to use a Drager spg with it?

No, this one does not have an HP port. I'm not 100% on the model, but it looks most like the PA-61 I.

I already have it apart and cleaned. It is a single stage regulator. I'll post more pictures as I assemble it.

Anyone in the market for a Drager with mouthpiece and wws? Good candidate for Rob's blue hoseloop.

It's gone. No use for it. It didn't get along with the Commie regs in the European box.

It didn't get along with the Commie regs in the European box. PY, it was my understanding they were made in West Germany... JB

Before you throw it away, this may be the regulator that Fred Roberts tested personally in a wet chamber to 480 feet. I'll look at his book later.

This is a single stage regulator with no venutri or even air direction. If it is that one, it doesn't mean much to a diver who rarely, and doesn't see the need to, exceed 60 fow. I'm happy it went to someone who will appreciate it.
