I was checking the internet, and found this link. It is called Aquatic Commons, and it has a complete copy of Historical Diver, Volume 2, Issue 1, Number 34. Take a look: aquaticcommons.org/15021/1/Historical_Diver_34_2003.pdfThis is perhaps the only single source for all the U.S. Divers Company/Aqualung double hose regulators. John PS, I have not yet seen this article, as my iPad is an ancient one, and hasn't the memory to open all the pages. I get dark blanks when I try. So I'll see this for the first time from my desktop Mac tonight, following this link. I am anxious to see it too.

Thanks for posting this John; looks real interesting. I took a quick look at it and made sure to post it in my favorites so I can take a more thorough look at it tomorrow. The article begins on page 37 and it appears to be real interesting. Terry

I have now taken a look at this issue, and got a real surprise, a great article on the Aqua Lung Mentor regulator by Kent Rockwell. This article explains a lot about this mysterious regulator, and actully the article is named, "The Navy's Mysterious Mentor." Surprisingly, it also give a history of the U.S. Navy use of the Snark III.
Enjoy,
John

Thanks, John! I'll leave double-hose regulator history to the experts. I just wanted to remind everybody that Aquatic Commons hosts a complete run of "The Official Publication of the journal of the Historical Diving Societies of South East Asia Pacific, Canada, Germany, Mexico, Russia and the U.S.A." Historical Diver from Number 1 (1993) to Number 82 (2015), free to download in PDF format, at: Historical DiverIt's a veritable treasure trove of information and scholarship. And Historical Diver isn't the only diving periodical to archive its old issues online. If there's a demand on this forum, I can list several other web addresses where such vintage issues are available in their entirety, not just scans of their cover illustrations, for viewing and download. We could all do with some time-consuming reading matter during the Coronovirus crisis when quarantine lockdowns are either being enforced (e.g. in France and Italy) or being threatened (e.g. here in the UK). Personally, I don't think I'm prepared quite yet to confront the uplifting though daunting prospect of immersing myself either in Leo Tolstoy's War and Peace or in Marcel Proust's A la Recherche du Temps Perdu... Awesome stuff. I read the USD article with much interest. I will check out some more links DRW provided as well. I'm a regulator-centric kina guy, but it's really great we have people on the board who have broader interests. Thanks!
