As I mentioned on the diesel injectors, there are other ways to make tiny orifices, but I am not sure how they did it on diesel injectors and many other devices.
On my third post you may notice that 1/64” (or even better a number 80) drill will produce an orifice that many will consider acceptable. It is possible that is all they used on many vintage regulators. I don't know.
The function is exponential. I just calculated one data point for each orifice dimension and then did a quick rough approximation. To do it more accurately you just have to integrate (the function) between the limits (the pressure limits) to get the area under the curve.
