I used to love diving in Rockport in the '60s. Used to dive in Folly Cove. Never a problem, but then again hardly anyone there. Seems like everywhere people try to control recreation near "their" property. You see it with the using beaches and springs in Florida as well as ATV or dirt bike riding.

...You see it with the using beaches and springs in Florida as well as ATV or dirt bike riding. But there's a very big difference with motor sports: firstly there is the noise pollution they create, you can hear many of them for miles; for the most part you don't have that with shore diving. Secondly by the very nature of wheeled vehicles made for dirt/mud they tear up the ground: most divers, unless you're Jacques Cousteau with his world famous dynamite, don't damage the dive area. Jus' sayin'... JB

JB JB- That could solve two problems for me. Many areas around here they don't restrict diving, but they restrict parking. If I bought a drysuit I could just put my truck in my drysuit.....Parking problem solved! If I took my truck diving I could take at least some of the lead off my belt.

These people are still at it. Now they've filed a suit claiming they own not only the beach but the road between their properties and the beach and the property a VFW is on
