My technique for adjusting second stages is to disconnect the hose from the first stage and then suck on that end to create a vacuum, holding it with my tongue. I then turn the nut until the vacuum is broken, then turn it until a vacuum is made: I've been able to get excellent results like that, even after checking my work with the reg on a tank... Anyway... Don't tell anyone, but I've used a small flat head screwdriver in a pinch.
Respectfully,
James
James, Your secret is safe with me...and yes, I think I am going to order one and do it right. JB, Yes, and thanks, now that song will be in my head for days!!

If you are talking about the tool that holds the poppet (screwdriver) while turning the nut, I make those. For the conshelf or many/most other USD/Voit regs, a HP assembly tool is very helpful. You can do it without one but I suggest you send pets, kids and the wife out of the house if you try, things flying and foul language are quite a common side effect. If you are interested in either tool shoot me an email to customscubatools@hotmail.com and I will send you a PDF catalog. I also make special tools for DAAM, RAM, Scubapro MK-5/10s and a few others. Just looked at the photos. A word of caution, those plastic USD second stages with the end ports are VERY prone to the port plug breaking. Just barely seat the plug and use the absolute minimum torque you can.
