Hello, I am new to the vintage diver world and was just curious if any of you were in the Phoenix area, or Arizona for that matter. I have never seen anyone diving old gear when I go out. I guess defining what old and vintage really means might come into play, but that is not the thread I was trying to start. I did mention vintage dive gear in 3 of our local shops and they didn't seem to know anyone. I know they are focused on selling training, gear, and vacations so that is the crowd that usually comes through the door. I understand that is the market they are in. I am hesitant to ask the question on (*)book because of the possible responses from people that turn their nose down at the idea of vintage diving. Any way, I just thought I would ask. I don't want to miss any vintage weekend at the lake or something like that. Rick

Hey rikdog7... My buddy and I are thinking of bringing our wives down to AZ in March for a vacation from snow. Bringing our wives and rent a VRBO. I want to make it a road trip thru CO to see my son, then through Hurricane UT to see some of the sights and then spend 4-5 days in Phoenix. I'll have my SUV with our Vintage gear and compressor. My buddy and his wife will fly down and rent another vehicle. So the wives can visit friends, golf, or whatever while we go diving in Lake Pleasant.
We're wondering if we have to go on a dive boat or can we see alot from Shore dives... I'd rather just be on our own, wear the gear we like, and go where we like. That's the plan we have so far. Of course you are welcome to dive with us! Nothing finalized yet but that's what we've discussed so far.
P.S. Your mention of good winter diving in Lake Pleasant is what got us thinking of this trip.
