I'm going to paint it. The blue "hot" glue is stickier/bondier/mo' betta. Not sure which reg gets the Home-Depot mouthpiece.
BTW, this mouthpiece is not simple. There's a lot of machining going on. First, the threads are cut off of another part, then machined, fitted, then glued to the pipe.
The bite-piece tube is also machine-complex. After turning the rim, it has to get heated with a heat gun and formed over a..... well..., form. Which has to be made. I made it out of a piece of wooden dowel that was carved to shape. Then, it is glued into a cut-out in the pipe, which isn't centered. Another feat. Lots of angles and such...
Then, when all is done, you have a PVC mouthpiece.

Hmmmm? It's my understanding the blue is for high temperature pipes, which you ain't got in this application... Unless you ain't tellin' us about how yer related to a certain giant radioactive lizard.... Both cements melt/weld the PVC plastic so there ain't no stickierness to it: so cured, should be cured, no? Jus' sayin'... JB

Thinking back on it, the blue must be from the primer. Or it's both, but I did use the blue primer on it before the glue.

I'm kinda surprised nobody has commented on the banjo on the Snark 3 I noticed the long yoke on there. Sweeeeet. It isn't surprising (to me) to see a long USD yoke on a Snark III since there's so much similarity in the nozzles. I think you and I talked about this a couple of years ago, Skip. Too bad the nozzle threads are different.....Phoenix Snark III? There's a setup like the Phoenix shown on the Turkish vintage scuba site that John found. Phil we did discuss this awhile back. I just got off my lazy butt and put the reg together. I test dove it at my parents camp Oct. 10. It worked perfectly. I think this will end up being one of my "go to" double hose regs.

Very cool. I like a Snark III. I'm down to only one: the 250 foot Snark. I'll probably have it till the end. I tried to unload it on Skip, but he wouldn't bite. It has a custom LP port adapter, but I'll probably never dive it. This is it with 2 different port adapters in it. Looks like I'd just finished cutting the backside one and test fit it.
I also made them out of hex stock: The OPRV port adapter is long like that b/c the distance between the adapter and the box doesn't have enough clearance for a hose fitting to fit between them on the early Snarks. The Silver is made differently, with more clearance. A nice short adapter will work on them: I think the short OPRV fitting is the best one, over-all, due to tank valve clearance issues with the center one. But it only works on Silvers. The long OPRV adapter is vulnerable to snagging in kelp, fishing line, etc., and is sticking right out there for any kind of smackage, etc. These issues are probably not too bad, but things do happen...

But it is worth it to get a SPG on the system. Phil, Be sure to have a second stage octopus (downstream) on that modified Snark III, as it does require an ORV. John

All that was required was to remove the entire HP nozzle, remove the standard Nemrod yoke and replace it with a long yoke from a DAAM/RAM. It's a very easy swap. I run these with a Sherwood combination safe second/BC inflator. It's similar to a Scuba Pro AIR 2. It provides a downstream second which will vent off excessive HP should it occur

All of my double hose (all entire four of them...) and a lot of my single hose regs are knackered up and beat, but still working. Mark

Here's a crazy looking but working model from 1976. I must have been a bit bored the day I built the "Aqua-Rod".
