Hi everyone, My name is Stephan and I currently live in the Fox Valley area of Wisconsin. This group was recommended to me by Phil (vance) who recently hooked me up with a functioning 1962 Dacor R-4 double hose regulator, which I am absolutely thrilled about having! Just a few years ago I became a Sea Hunt fan and have subsequently developed an interest in vintage scuba gear. I look forward to learning more and am very happy to have joined this group. If there is anyone in my area with an interest in Sea Hunt/vintage scuba, let me know. Thank you Phil for the regulator and the referral! Stephan

Welcome to this group. There are several of us who still enjoy the Dacor double hose regulators. I currently have a R-2, a R-3 Dial-a-Breath, and a Clipper which I periodically convert to a R-4. I’m glad we have someone else here enjoying these old Dacor regulators. They are really tough regulators.

Stephan, firstly, welcome Please ask any questions you want: the only dumb question is the one never asked. I'd be willing to bet that you got your reg. from Phil, AKA Vance, eh? He's a personal friend of mine, and lives on the other side of the SF Bay from me. I do love me some Dacor gear: Since you like Sea Hunt so much, go onto Youtube and do a search for: Oh, and here's my best little buddy with one of my C-3 Clippers: Again, welcome, Jaybird

Hi Stephan, Good to have you on the board! I hope you enjoy that regulator. This is a great resource for anything you want to know about vintage diving. Cheers! Phil (Vance)

That’s an awesome Dacor collection you have John- thanks for sharing! Do you happen to know where the old Dacor plant was located in Evanston before moving to Northfield?

I have a 1975 "Factory News" paper that was published by Dacor and sent to my Mom & Dad's home while I was in college, and it has a 162 N. Northfield Rd., P.O. Box 157, Northfield, ILL. 60093 address. I don't know where it was located in Evanston, but I do have a History of Diving magazine which talks about Dacor's history, and maybe it's in there. John

This is John, and I can do some editing on these links. You just used the wrong code, so I pasted the correct code into the post. That’s a great-looking regulator! I think you’ll really enjoy it.

John Thanks John! I appreciate the tech assistance. Yeah I’d be interested to know if you find any information on the Evanston location; all I ever see in magazines and ads is a PO Box. The Northfield Rd address is the only one I’ve seen (currently a Chicago north shore senior center.)
