Just a bit of housekeeping... I wanted to be sure this information was accessible, not buried in a thread where it is off-topic!

The Brown Lady of Raynham Hall... I just ordered a knackered old Dacor double hose off a dive gear site. This topic might be useful to me in the near future... Mark

So what model? We can help. James makes diaphragms, and I make other parts for Dacors. I also have some NOS mouthpieces and non-return valves. There are other sources as well.
Let's see some photos!

I'll be honest and say I'm not sure yet. Guessing it is R-3 or R-4? It does have the Dial a Breath feature. I don't have high hopes in performance, more or less just wanting another project to work on... I can't take a photo as it is in transit, you lot will be the first to see it when I get it. I'm guessing early next week when it gets here? Mark

After a long hiatus due to getting my ever loving butt kicked by voids, I've revisited this. I still had a due out for a main diaphragm, and had re-designed the mold... but just a few days ago poured it. Came out perfect on the first try (I think all my molds will eventually get this change in method). Since I had to redo the mold for the pour method, I did it with the inverted curve like the Trieste's (rather than the original dome). When it get's to it's owner, I hope to hear back on results in use. Like an idiot, I didn't take any pictures... so that will have to wait until the next one I pour.
Respectfully,
James

I’ll be sure to take some pictures and share here! With winter holding on so long it’ll be awhile yet before I can try it out

The Dacor diaphragms James has made make it possible to rebuild the Dacor DH line. This is awesome beyond awesome.
There are still some kinks with the exhaust diaphragms to iron out, though. I have an R-4 needs an exhaust diaphragm that doesn't push up so far it interferes with the exhaust mushroom. The posts that were added to push the exhaust diaphragm back worked better, but mine still has backpressure problems. Have you made any progress on this, James?
The whole problem can be mitigated by using a duckbill, which actually performs better than the exhaust diaphragm, so my R-4 may go this way.

If I recall, I was waiting on a measurement from you or John on how tall the posts need to be. Once I have that, I can redesign the exhaust plate and upper mold half for it (and redo it with the inverted dome like the main I did). Of course, it will take a while to produce one (a new mold will be about 10 hours on the printer, and I don't run it unsupervised... I'm paranoid that way).

I can’t remember if the exhaust James made for me was a 2nd gen, but it seemed to function exactly like an OEM and didn’t make any fart sounds

I haven't gone back to see whether I put these pictures into this thread, but here it is again. I was diving last summer with my Dacor R-4, with the silicone diaphragms from Vance, and it performed very, very well. The new, larger exhaust was quite nice. Seal Fins at High Rocks by John Ratliff, on Flickr I was also experimenting with the Force Fin ---> Seal Fin concept. IMG_3329 by John Ratliff, on Flickr This is what the diaphragms look like when installed in the Dacor R-4 regulator. Now, Mark above mentioned that he's getting an unknown model of the Dacor Double Diaphragm, with the "Dial-A-Breath" feature (a know which turns a vane to de-tune the Venturi). Well, this was a feature of the R-3, but the R-4 and early Clipper regulators sometimes had that feature too. John
