Let's shoot for a Summer 2021 Monterey meet. I am around after July 15th, but if it needs to be before that (unlikely), go for it! We can have more than one. Actually, Fall is better in Monterey.

I vote for the fall classic: but let's see what this 'Delta-variant is gunna do. It's predicted that there will be another spike in new infections about that time too though JB

As JB said, I vote for a fall meet also, possibly late Sept. or early Oct. as I will be shark diving at Tiger Beach, Bahamas late Oct. But if we have one this summer, I will be in for that as well, my schedule is very fluid now.

I'd be up for a Monterey meet-up anytime in September. Between trial commitments and opening of lobster season my October is looking pretty full at present. Here's a pic of yours truly taken by fishnbeer Jerry at the 2018 Monterey event. I think it is a still from his video. Metridium Fields on a compass course of Zero-Pipe-Zero here I come! Mark

I like the idea of an October meet, especially if the conditions are better and more predictable.

Hoping to finaly see one of the famous Aquala Drysuits in action! beginning in 1976 and in order of purchase, I have owned a Poseidon Unisuit, a SAS (Sub-Aquatic Systems) manual inflate drysuit, a Viking Pro drysuit, and a DUI Signature drysuit. Each had good and bad points, but I dove Monterey and British Columbia in all of them and stayed warm and toasty on every dive. My DUI became FUBAR about 6 years ago and my 5mm wetsuit is only good for one dive a day in Monterey waters. Currently exploring new drysuit options! Mark

Good Morning All!
Let's pick some dates for a Meet in Monterey 2021. The best diving here is fall through spring and the best, consistent good weather is September through November.
Monterey is a tourist destination so it is less crowded when kids are in school so I favor any non-holiday weekend in September-October.
Monterey is expensive but there are campsites available locally. There are plenty of places to dine with prices to fit everyone's budget. There are things to do besides dive for non-diving family members in the event that you want to stay for more than a weekend. Attractions include local history, wine tasting, whale watching, the Monterey Bay Aquarium, Big Sur, Point Lobos and Elkhorn Slough.
So get vaccinated and pick a date. Everyone is welcome whether you want to dive or just socialize. Bring your best vintage toys as well as anything you would like to sell or trade.

Good Dives, Charlie

Looks like the 3rd (16-17) and 4th (23-24) weekends in October are the current favs. Please check your availability and state your preference if you haven't already done so.

If we get a date picked, I'll be happy to promote a Monterey get-together on ScubaBoard, VDH, etc... One thing I've noticed in the past is that the turn-out is always greater (relatively speaking) on Saturday than on Sunday. Setting a one-day event would focus in on the event even more. Anyone that wanted to get together and dive the next day as well certainly could. My 2psi.
