I have a some plates being cut from the VDH pattern... due to logistics of having it done, I will have about 5 spares. For full disclosure, these are cut from street sign aluminum with the paint/reflectiveness sanded off, and need deburring (square edged cuts, not chamfered) and are unpainted. I'm deburring the ones I'm keeping with a Dremel.
I did check with Bryan (VDH owner) and have his blessing to sell the extras to recoup my costs (not trying to step on a business, even when they are out of stock). So I'm checking if anyone would want one of the extras at $45... I know I've seen many asking about the actual VDH plates here and on other forums, so I thought I'd put the idea up here first. It would be a week or so before I start getting the plates (I still have to strip the paint before the CNC guy will cut it).
Respectfully,
James

I wish you'd be in action last summer when I was looking for one! I ended up buying some sheet aluminum and going crazy with a drill and a jigsaw. Ended up with a nice plate, but I'm sure I spent more than $45! Good luck.

Do you have an image available? Here is the test plate... it's an inch short (due to my buddy messing up a conversion), but looks good otherwise. Like I mentioned, the cuts are straight vertical through the material, so I used a dremel to deburr this one... It will end up on my 11 y.o.'s rig. On a general update, removing orange reflective roadsign paint is a cast iron pain in the rear... but I'm almost done and hope to get the rest cut this coming week. Respectfully, James

Sign is stripped of paint (for the record, never, ever, ever try that... I would rather spend the money on a clean sheet of aluminum than mess with that again!), and dropped off on Saturday to be cut. My friend that's cutting them does it as a side job, while he works full time at his day job... so they should get cut this week. Will post pics side by side with my actual VDH plate when I get them back.
Respectfully,
James

Might be fun to leave the paint on....

Might be fun to leave the paint on.... The reflective sign paint (more specifically the adhesive layer) gunks up the bits on the CNC.... He specifically required removal!

If you end up with one left over, I might like to take it off your hands when you have them all.

Good job! I use my original VDH plate for all my double hose and single hose diving. I just let the tank ride higher for single hose and it is ideal. Packs for travel much flatter than a standard bent plate. Very comfortable and stable in the water.

James,
I used your plate today with a DGX wing in a pool with my rebuilt Cyclone/HPR DA AM. Everything seemed to work great together.
