JB and Vance, Thank you, I think we'll stick with the Wenonah canoe. We've definately worked that one out. fullsizeoutput_2873 by John Ratliff, on Flickr We really enjoy our canoe trips on the Tualatin River, have worked out how to cartop the canoe, take it off, and get it into and out of the water without hurning myself (I ask for help getting it up there on the car from the river). if worse gets to worse, I could also buy on new, much lighter canoe (ours is about 70-80 pounds). I carry it to the river, and let it flop into teh water; coming out, whe have a set of wheels to go under the canoe, and just walk it up to the car. Then I look around for helpers. But, JB, I hear you about "You're no spring chicken..." And, I'm also starting to feel it too. Now, I've been finding slides, film that I've processed that is going into my book on the North Umpqua river and the Winchester Dam project from 1984-86, putting all that together too. And today, I got another critique of my book on my PJ days, I'll write about that here in my book thread. John
