Well that is good enough for me. I do remember tapping on the face plate and it did not sound like plastic at all. I would rather not take a knife to it to be sure it is glass, ha. William

William, Just thinking about it, I'm not sure I'd want to be in some of the plastics (for the face lens) in a fire situation, knowing the temperatures that a fire fighting personnel can be exposed to and the melting point of some plastics. Saying that, I am apparently wrong. Thank you John. Well that is the right way of answering this for us all. I do not have to dig mine out now also, I just need to pick a good spot in the back yard to Bury it in, ha, ha. It may make good fertilizer. William
