Have a tough time getting your vintage open heel fins off after diving?
Try this: Purchase two 2.5" or 3" HD O-rings from your local hardware store and slide them over your fin straps. Walla - instant fin carry 'handle' and finger 'loops' for EASY fin removal!
Simply slip your finger(s) thru the O-rings after diving (works even with heavy gloves on) and you'll have your fins off in a jiffy.
Picture to follow shortly!

I bet it wont work with my dry suit when the fins are held on by the suction of the boots being the same size as the fin pocket......................caveman

The O-ring isn't to get the fin itself off, to to get the heel strap off your heel with gloves, etc. on.
Sorry for the confusion...

We used to take 1" nylon webing, about 8" long, and make two loops in it. One was big enough to go around the fin strap, and the other was big enough to put a finger or two into the loop. I took them to a shoe repair shop, and had them sew it with nylon thread in the middle. It functioned in the same way, but was not subject to deterioration that an O-ring would. It didn't stretch either. I still have some over 20 years old.

Interesting...the new Genesis-brand fin straps have a 'triangular' loop in them for fingers. Its pretty handy indeed...

Do like I do, just apply KY JELLY to your feet and your fins slide right off. and hit somebody in the face.

I don't know.... those o-rings sound like an entanglement hazard, maybe you could zip tie D- rings on them instead, and look a lot more "professional" too.
