Here is a link to view the entire film. Epaves, staring Frederic Dumas, is the second Cousteau film and the first to feature the Aqua-Lung. For reference the Silent World didn't come out until 1956. Enjoy www.flashbackscuba.com/museum/silent_world.html-Ryan

Bravo Ryan(again)!
I've been trying to see that entire film for over 40 years, you've done it again!!!! But I'm not giving up yet on finding a triple block(yellow of course) from the Calypso gang!
Thanks for the great work Ryan.
Sincerely,
Michel A.

I'm glad you enjoyed it. Let me know when you find your second triple block(yellow of course) from the Calypso gang I will do the same of course. You never know what's out there but the competition is fierce. -Ryan

Oh,Oh! Did you say 'second' triple block? As in you already have the 1st and now you are looking for your 2nd? If you do I'll be damned! But if you do how about a in depth pictorial and spec sheet,I'm sure the gang here would love to see closeup a set of yellow triples from 'The Silent World' as I would. But either way I'm not giving up especially on my next trip to France and 'merde', french is my mother tongue so I should have an edge over you in this friendly competition(which you are winning by a kilometer!). However,as a gentleman,if I ever I hit the mother load in Europe or elsewhere I promise to share/donate to your museum,I think your doing fine work for JYC legacy and the Historical Diving Community in general instead of hoarding stuff that no one gets to see let alone future generations of young entrepreneurs, divers and explorerers. No I don't have a set I was implying that once I found one I would offer you the second one I found. I was also hinting that if you were to find 2 you would offer me the second. Sorry to get your hopes up. -Ryan

Relief!!!
There's hope for me yet.I misunderstood your sentence, now I get it. By the way,I don't know if you travel a lot but have you ever tried south america? I have and the last time I saw an old set of euro type tanks(open at both ends like your bi-bloc)was in Venezuela in the seaside resort of Puerto LaCruz. They were for sale in the village sports shop which sold all kinds of marine stuff including dive gear, the tanks were like your set but were black. This was in very early 1990 and I had not started to collect/restore vintage regs but remember the set as being very old and I did not buy them. It's just an idea but I think the south americans in general may have imported a lot of euro or Spiro stuff from France,Spain and Italy rather than Canada or the U.S,it could be a fertile hunting ground... Salut, Michel A.
