I'm taking my USD DH to the pool tomorrow. I sometimes help the college SCUBA instructor for his OW classes so I can at least get in the water there. Lakes still a little cold and there's no ice so what do you do?

You know what they say. You could step in a bucket of...and come out smelling like a rose! GRRRRRRRRRRRRRRRR!Yesterday, while mowing the last patch of lawn we have, my hand slipped, catching myself just right, breaking No.10 on my left side: One time, while leaning over the fender of my '59 Rambler, I heard two quick snaps: that was really bad because it hurt every time I breathed or even moved. Fortunately, this one ain't too bad, but still hurts! I think I should be healed up in time for our trip to the Caymans in June... Jaybird

Damn brother, are you OK? I hope you don't have ostegenesis Imperfecta or some other bone ailments. I wish you were free from the pain that plagues you, but you take it in stride I'm like that with my knee/ankle. Why dwell on it, right? Never had a broken rib though. And my rock climbing days are behind me because I'm a little out of shape and the joints take too long to recover from that kind of stress. I miss it but we still get out and ice climb some. Believe it or not it doesn't stress my ankle as much. The boots are pretty rigid... I'm sure you'll enjoy your trip. Hopefully you can dive while you're there. I've done a fair amount of diving but mostly in the Great Lakes. I've been to Florida a couple times and its nice and all. But it costs too much for dive vacations so I play closer to home. Still got that Rambler? I haven't seen pictures so I must assume its gone. Wish you had it back?

No, I had to sell it when we moved down south: that was the easiest parking car I've ever had. I don't remember exactly what it was but the turning radius was insane, something like 18-feet! My Toyota SR5 is more like 30-35, bwa-hahahaha! I remember a while back Volkswagen was bragging about their new improved turning radius for the Jetta, of, are you ready... 50-feet--REALLY!
We're taking a USD Calypso-VI and Dacor Olympic-400 to the Caymans, which should be awesome. I can't wait to see their faces, as I'm sure these regs are older than most of the divers there--tee-hee-hee, "Hey, you can't use that, those are dangerous..."

Bummer about your knees and ankles! When I die, I want my ashes scattered here: Pennicles National Park! Not that I climb, but it's a climbers paradise: It's an extinct volcano that used to be near Los Angeles about 95-million years ago. To say that it's my favorite place in the world would be an understatement! Jaybird

Pinnacles huh? We were there in May. Loved it. This place is cool too. I wouldn't dive there though Here's my youngest getting (another) JR Ranger badge at Pinnacles. Cali sure is a great place to visit, but...

How'd you get so cool Don: should'a know'd you'd been there! Mono Lake is even better at night, like being on the set of Lost in Space, and I know you want one of these as much as I do: Jaybird

Jaybird, I'd love one of them. So if you make one, you gotta make two! Then we'd both be cool! Makes me wonder sometimes how they got all those cool doodads in the little saucer? Hey while you're at it, I'd also like one of these: John, that does look like some awesome climbing! Soyou were a climber too? Man, I can hardly wait for that book (hint hint). We've made it as far west as the Tetons but I'd like to hit the Wind River range as there's some nice climbing/hiking there too. There's a little peak called warbonnet that I'd like to bag. No diving there though If we make it to Oregon would you be our guide
