I want to know if any company is making reproduction yellow hoses for early aqua-master regs,I have a 1959 madel in perfect working order except the hoses.A company in the U.K. was supposed to make them but apparently they are having some problems with the mold, any help out there? Mike Pellegrino

Stuart Jefferies, in Scotland, is currently working on the manufacture of yellow hoses for US Divers regulators. He has his rubber color and formula down, but is having some problems with the mold. He hopes to have it worked out within a month and have the hoses up for sale. As far as I know, there are no other yellow hoses available and no one else is working on them. The cost of this project is quite high, but Stuart's hoses will be as good as the originals. You can visit his web site at mysite.freeserve.com/www.vintageaqualungs/index.htm

Mike. A quick update on the hoses. Firstly I'd like to just say that I'm not a company, but just a vintage scuba enthusiast, like most of you. The company producing the hoses does work for the military . aviation, medical etc and unfortunatly what i've asked them for is small fry to them. The problem with the tool is all to do with heat distortion. The rubber has to be baked, while under huge pressure to cure. Because of this the tool has to have an inbuilt error to compensate for the distortion. It is a matter of trial and error for them combined with the time wasted, that is dragging the whole thing on. I could have had the hoses on the market six month ago, but I'm not going to offer for sale anything that I'm not happy with myself, and especially when I've tied up the amount of money that is involved. It has to be perfect or not at all. I have been told that the problem is understood now and that they feel confident that the next sample should be perfect. The hoses will be well worth waiting for. I apologise for the delay, and look forward to anouncing their arrival. (very soon)

Stu: That's good news to hear about the yellow hoses. You've certainly been working and waiting a long time to get those just right, and I know everyone really appreciates it. Since the yellow hoses will now be ready; will the yellow repro mouthpieces also be available? Many thanks for all your efforts! Terry

Yellow mouthpieces. I thought that they were available from Ron Benson! Maybe he's having problems with getting them on the market. Got to say I like the yellow hoses on a black mouthpiece. A nice contrast of colours.
