Porta-Sub is Going to Wazee May 30-31- Sea Hunt Jerry is bringing his restored and working Voit Porta-Sub to the Wazee Dive. I had a chance to participate in the "Sea Trials" last weekend at Square Lake and snapped this photo. Jerry took some video of me driving it on the surface... I'll try to post it in a few days. - Remember, the theme of this get together is to enjoy diving however you like, with whomever you like, whenever you like. The only thing "Planned" is a Grilled Brat Lunch and group photo at 12:00 Saturday May 31st.

Sea Trial #2 Voit Porta-Sub Diving Scooter
- Sea Hunt Jerry added some weight inside the Voit Port-Sub for this second Sea Trial. It pulled very well but still needs some trim/buoyancy tuning. Had a little tendency to nose down. - Jerry will be bringing the Porta-Sub to Wazee May 30-31... Really a unique piece of diving history and quite a priviledge to be permitted to drive it. Thank you Jerry!

Wazee Dive Report:- Friday was serious vintage with Sea Hunt Jerry, Tom McClusky, and SurfLung Eb decked out in their best Vintage double hose regs and multi-tank diving rigs. We took video of each of us driving Jerry's Porta-Sub... Which incidentally, Jerry has tuned and trimmed into PERFECT working order. - Left is Jerry with original triple tanks, Voit Polaris regulator, White Voit mask, silver Sea HUnt wet suit... And of course the Porta-Sub. We'll be editing together some of the video in a few days. - Middle is Tom wearing original Sportways Twin 42s and Aqualung Mistral regulator. - Right is SurfLung Eb with his Mike Nelson USN Twin 38s, and Voit Downstream 50 Fathom regulator. - Also diving with us Friday were Guy and Rich using modern diving gear. Weather was absolutely beautiful with clear blue sky, hot sun, and aqua blue water. Becky and Tom brought buns, chips, potato salad and desert so we grilled up some brats and had a nice picnic right on the shore. - Saturday dawned yet another gorgeous day. Starting out it was just Jerry, Eb and Rich diving at the ramp. When SwimJim and Eric P arrived, we moved to Sherwood Forest. Visibility was better there. Jim and Eric geared up for a technical dive down to 154 feet. Eb looked dove Aqua-Lung Twin 38s and a prototype Argonaut double hose regulator. Mike and Jean and the kids arrived and suited up. - By noon we were all hungry and grilled up some more brats. - One more dive after lunch... We visited the sunken Chris Craft, played in the culverts, and then it was time to go home. I sure had a great time and I think everyone else did too.
