Took me a while to find these: This is my friend Teka diving the MR-12 II in Sitka and using the MR-12 as an octopus. I used the same setup on a bottle dive: Is there a reason some regs have a black rub rail, and some do not?

Dave, thanks for sharing--I'm looking forward to using his one. I like that my T-II has snaps for a neck strap, I really love the idea behind those
Have any of you done anything to protect the painted label? I'm thinking of using urethane to clear coat it: I think I'll do that with my Navy-Unit too...

Oh, Dave, BTW, I FINALLY finished that C3-Clipper you gave me! vintagescuba.proboards.com/thread/2459/dacor-model-original-unit-breath?page=10Hopefully next month my wife and I are going to have a little pool party with our LDS-owner: he's really excited about me actually having an extensive collection of DH's and very early SH's... Again, thanks buddy, I love a challenge. Oh, and that HW Scuba Star, I just got a good primary for it, and the original tilt-valve will be the octo. I'm also going to tap some new ports into it; another LP and I'm going to make a HP for it, emulating the one in my USD Deepstar-I, which is nearly the same first stage... Jaybird

The Dacor looks amazing! Glad you were able to save it from it's dusty shelf up here.
Let us all know how the tapping of the HW 1st goes, I've thought of that, but never had the gumption to try it. Could change the way people look at old first stages.

Yeah, I see that now that I physically have it: I was confused because, well, it's not actually marked HP Also, wouldn'cha know, that allen-screw is the only one I don't have a wrench for, grumble, grumble, grumble... The T-II second stage, has a pretty low number: 00257. Kinda groovy I thought Jaybird

Oh man, what did I say now. I think I was talking about Healthways (HW) and got confused as to what I was saying.... Thanks for clear that up John. And yes, my MR-12 has 2 LP ports and 1 HP port. My MR-12 II has 3 LP ports and one HP port.

The MR12 has to have 1 HP port, it name says so....the name is not MR12 but actually MR 1-2 ...Military Regulator, 1 HP port, 2 LP ports...or at least the erban legand says that is what it means.

Hmmmm, "Curiouser, and curiouser..."
In the Voit service manual, it looks like the Titan-II was called the R-12, and R-12J, which really makes it look like a Dacor Olympic-400 & 800...

so, here is a question....
I have two different MR-12 second stage bodies from the AMF Swimaster era. One has the external "venturi tube", and one does not. I have enough parts to assemble one (wish i hade enough to do both and use one as an octo, but such is life). Which body would you use, and why? Thanks in advance for any input.

"Plus, the gifted set has a Healthways Balanced second, apparently functioning (not had interest in addressing it yet as I have this riddle to solve first)."Did you mean first stage? I've never heard of a balanced second stage, which doesn't mean anything BTW! If it is a HW balanced second stage, I JUS' GOTTA SEE IT!!! Mean old John, aka Searat, kinda turned me into a Healthways junkie Jaybird
