Ain't been around for a while. Wasn't snubbing anyone; this is one of only two Website Discussion Groups I haven't given up on for being a total waste of time. Always good people with solid G2 here and Linda keeps the trolls at bay. Actually, I've just been busy and haven't been cruising the net that much. Have stopped by occasionally to see what's going on; just haven't had anything worth posting. ;-)
In current events from around the world... we didn't get destroyed by the Hurricane. We were Ground Zero but were lucky. The ridge and forest gave the house some protection and the closest tree that fell landed about 8-feet from our pool.
My sailboat under one of those lightweight cloth-and-tubing car-covers alongside the house? I thought sure it would have gone into orbit, but it was protected by the house and trees; didn't even get touched.
After that we camped out for a week with no power but were well equipped and provisioned. All good here in Vulcania! But some people fared much worse and are still digging out.
Saw an eBay auction for a Rene winebottle tank with DA that ended (reserve not met) while I snoozed this morning; started a thread in the FOR SALE column here. Sent the seller an email, too.
If that auction was posted by someone I know, PLEASE EMAIL ME! Like to talk to you about your tank.
Anyway, another morning in paradise and it aint nothin' but a fresh cup of coffee. Hope you folks are having a great day; I am so far. ;-)
VBR,
Pat

Pat,
Been busy! One son (Joshua) in college now, and in January, maybe two (Andrew completes High School in December). Andrew completed most of Rescue Diver (I've posted photos here); just has to do the Dive Medic part of the course. All my sons still live at home; so, I'm one busy dad all the time.
What's bad, my glasses broke and I get them through the VA. Went to a few places in Chico to try and find a frame. It appears the VA uses frames that are like twenty years outdated, and no one carries them anymore. Guess I have to go to Redding VA (over sixty miles away) to see if I get a replacement frame. Sometimes vets have to make appointments for that, which involves calling the VA, leaving a name and last four along with a phone number, and hopefully they might call back. Then. in a couple of months .... maybe something will get done. (UGH!) I'm hoping I can do a walk-in ....
Now, I'm trying to get my wife to go to the doctor. She has a sore on her foot, and her foot is swollen. Getting her to go is hard; but, she told me if it isn't better by tomorrow she will let me take her .... pray for me (and her!).
That's about what's happening in my neck of the woods .... Also, a dive is planned for the Feather River Sept. 6th I don't want to miss, back permitting! There are thousands of salmon in the river. So far, I haven't made it to the bridge to find any new treasures. People like to throw things over the bridge; shopping carts when they hit the water, it splashes way high! Raley's and Walgreens loses a lot to the river and by the time we recover them, they are trash. Lots of bicycles to be found, also.
I gotta get going, chat latter.
Robert

Hey, thanks! Glad to see everybody's still up and running. Life does have it's ups and downs; all we can do is pray for the best. Good luck to your wife, Robert. I always put off going to the doctor, too. We shouldn't, but we do.
I didn't buy Russ' tank. It's a nice vintage rig and I'll regret not getting it but I would have cannibalized it for another Leagues rig and thought it deserved to be kept intact.
Anybody else looking for 1953 Rene PST 72 with a blue Broxton DA, contact Russ K.
Three day weekend. Swimming and painting the new addition to the house. Hope y'all have a good one!

Yup. I regretted passing on Russ' rig so much, I went back and bought it. He's figuring the shipping as I write. I have one set of "winebottle" Leagues duals and when I first saw Russ' auction I thought of making a second set because I remembered having another Rene tank around here somewhere. Turned out it was an "outy". So I bought Russ' rig and will keep it intact. When we start doing boat shows with the submarine and diving rigs, I'll put this one in there to exemplify what SCUBA was like back in the day. That also means I AM STILL IN THE MARKET FOR WINEBOTTLE TANKS. If anybody sees any of those available, please let me know. Spent yesterday airless-painting my house; it rained but the wind was such that the side I painted didn't get wet. How lucky is that? Today I'm tracking down an oil leak in my forklift. Hope y'all have a great day. Hey, thanks! Glad to see everybody's still up and running. Life does have it's ups and downs; all we can do is pray for the best. Good luck to your wife, Robert. Russ' tank arrived today. Mighty fast shipping! Unboxed it and it looks good. Will try to find time to play with it in the pool tomorrow and will get some pictures.
Thanks again, Russ!
