That's the same as mine. I'm not sure what's happening here...

Submitted for your approval: meet Phil a very confused member of the Vintage Scuba Forum. He believes that he is showing images of what he believes is a newly purchased pieces of vintage scuba gear. Little does he realize that he has in fact, a bugaboo, a nightmare as it were, he can not prove, or disprove that he is the owner of said item. Next stop, the Twilight Zone... JB

Grrrr. Why won't mine show?
edit: OK, I see how you found the picture.
When I return from my journey into the unknown with Rod Serling (if I ever do), you'll know.
Funny, JB asked for pics, then had to post them himself!!
I just tried an experiment. If I'm signed into my Google account, the pics show; signed out, not. Moved back to Flickr and figured out (hopefully) where to get the URL and how to post.
Time to return this hijacked post to its original subject....

Does it have a removable bezel: if so, yes! If it's one of those ca-ca-doo-doo Voits that's all sealed up in a plastic case, no! This one is particularly awesome with carnage, don'cha think? JB

I started a new thread for this gauge to set this thread free!

I got my Divair today. Was expecting to be disappointed in a nasty mess. It's actually pretty sweet! Esp the HP mouthpiece. All the threads are good, and the mushrooms are still excellent! The grayish hoses are also not bad, but stained with rust where the clamps go, but I'll get most of it off I think. Here are some pics: DSCF1910 by Vancetp, on Flickr DSCF1909 by Vancetp, on Flickr DSCF1920 by Vancetp, on Flickr DSCF1922 by Vancetp, on Flickr DSCF1921 by Vancetp, on Flickr DSCF1923 by Vancetp, on Flickr I love the comment about the cover looking like an art deco ashtray. It does! I will post pics of the guts later. Phil

Very cool bruddah--especially that yellow dust-cap It's those little details that really make it, for what I refer to as, "official"... Can't wait to see more of the gizzards. JB

OK, here's some more of the new Divair. There is no diaphagm, but the clamp is there along with some strips of old rubber under it. I am wondering if the place I bought it from took it out so the reg wouldn't be "used for diving, only display". These things are dangerous, you know! What do I know? I've never dived with a Divair.... If they did, the joke's on them! All it takes is $40 and and an email to order a new repro diaphragm. As I've said, the hardest part of working on these things is cranking open the wallet. DSCF1931 by Vancetp, on Flickr DSCF1928 by Vancetp, on Flickr DSCF1933 by Vancetp, on Flickr DSCF1926 by Vancetp, on Flickr DSCF1930 by Vancetp, on Flickr So the nylon plunger looks a bit different than JBs, and I'm suspicious that the valve's guts were installed improperly. I'll have to study that cluttered diagram and see. The chrome on some small parts is flaking and/or rusty. I'm having difficulty removing the big nut from under the yoke. I'm afraid to put much torque on the plastic body. I really don't want to break it. I'm going to spray some PB on it. Until that's off, I can't get the little levery thing with the adjuster on it out. (That's the technical term for the lever in the picture just above.) Or the valve seat. And I can't seem to budge the little sleeves off of the long can screws. They can probably be left alone. There's a whole paragraph on the tin plate telling the user about the reserve lever: DSCF1923 by Vancetp, on Flickr It's not a good picture. I just cropped it from another pic and turned it rightside up, but you can see most of the text. The blue paint is mostly scraped off now, unlike when this pic was taken. The clamps are very rusty, and wouldn't you know it, the one which is least rusty is broken as you can see. DSCF1919 by Vancetp, on Flickr More to come as the project progresses. Phil

If you have, try to wash it off, leave the valve body in...

Sorry for the spasmodic replies, but I did this and I was very sorry for it, that doo-doo seeps into the plastic and takes MONTHS to dissipate, you shouldn't breath that stuff, really! Gosh, I'm sounding just like John now It's only a little bit of a pain to work around it, but it can be done: trust me on this one... JB

I'm really confused at how yours works Phil: how the heck does the air get around the plunger? Mine has guides, yers don't... JB

I was going to, then decided to wait and see if I heard from someone (or not) that it was a huge mistake and it would kill me or at least cause explosions and/or moral turpitude! So, I didn't. Lucky!
