Hi all. I was cleaning out the old man's shop and came across a Cornelius three stage air compressor. It's 27 V DC, 21 Amp power Assy. Dwg. 32-R-800. Any info on this type of compressor out there? I've looked around with general searches but haven't come up with much. I'm going to give it a good once over soon and see about replacing the filter and doing a power conversion of sorts. Some buddies and I are getting a frankenfill station together to blend nitrox and trimix. We have a Haskel booster already and I was wondering if I could get this bad boy working for air top ups. Any info or guidance as to where/what filter I can use would be greatly appreciated. Cheers. I'd rather be underwater....

I had a Cornelius compressor once, a long, long time ago just after I got out of the USAF. 'Bought it from a friend, but could not afford to get it hooked up. I think it took 480V, and that meant running a special line from somewhere to my parent's house. I could never afford to do that and stay in college, even with a bit of USAF Reserve pay. I ended up selling it after a few years in my Dad's garage. I'm trying to think of where you could go for information on this compressor. You might try here: vintagescuba.proboards.com/thread/3237/cornelius-model-130r1500-air-compressorJohn

Pedro, you may want to PM Herman: as I recall, he knows about them, or if not your model, then I'm sure he can help point you in the right direction!

Going from memory they put out .5 cu ft a min and if I recall right they could go to 2400psi. I have some old dive books that reference them.. one shows the details to convert it to a gas or 110 ac drive. I had one.. nice little unit. Wished I still had one.
