Totally awesome! It sounds like mine with yellow hoses and black mouthpiece, mine is circa 1959-ish. West Pico Bvd address. I actually think mine has a rubber diaphragm still? and it performs great! I need to update to a new diaphragm and see how it goes then. Look forward to photos and dive report! Mark Here's my Mistral. vintagescuba.proboards.com/thread/5103/mistral-dip-afternoon

I just received my Mistral in the mail and can’t believe the condition. Much better than expected. $148 total. From what I can tell the finish on most I have seen, even mine appears to be matte. This leads me to thinking sandblaster on the can . I have one at work. Do you guys think that is a good idea? Thanks, Paul

I still haven’t figured out how to get the photos on this forum. I’ll work on trying to learn, but right now I’m sanding and painting my boat deck and it’s taking all of my free time. I will send a pic to Phil soon.

If the condition of yours is excellent, why would you consider sandblasting it?

Paul We ran out of storage years ago. Please follow the directions here: vintagescuba.proboards.com/thread/5261/using-flickr-host-site-postingor here: vintagescuba.proboards.com/thread/5473/using-imgur-post-photosI use both Flickr and Imgur, but prefer Imgur. I think it's more intuitive and simpler.

The Mistrals were plated in a satin nickel finish. If it's in good shape, it should be left as is. Some people have been cerakoting (is that a word?) these, but I'd only consider doing that to boxes with very poor plating. Maybe not even then...
