I ended up buying the Snark Silver from the guy in Casablanca. I will post photos of the rebuild here. I hope it has what I think it does…..

I just finished a late model Snark 3. It has a HP port and I added a LP adapter. Has anybody used the Snark 3 on 3000 psi tanks? My thought is that by the 90's 3000 psi tanks were common so Nemrod probably made the late Snarks capable of being used @ 3000. Any thoughts?

The nozzles on some late models are fixed. Not sure if that change included a heavier yoke.

Hello
Since the 1970's in germany we usually used 2900 PSI with every din or yoke reg. Nobody had any thoughts that the a yoke was not strong enought and sometimes we filled our tanks up to 3200 bar . I can't remeber any accident belonging to the yoke .
I don't have a Nemrod yoke but five other yoke's and made a quick and dirty calculation . The weakest yoke and 3000 PSI produce 48 N/mm^2 tension . The permissible tension for the brass I found in a tabel is 50 N/mm^2 by an savety of 3 . With weaker brass , failure in the brass ,failure in the thread's or srew and additional mechanical forces (for examble tip over the tank with an SnarkIII) the nice savety 3 does not exist .
You can use the joke with care .
Greetings Rainer

I agree with Rainer. In 1968 we were using the AL90s from the U.S. Navy, which were rated at 3,000 psi. Tha U.S. Navy was using them with a DA Aquamaster regulator, witth is original yoke. But, we were told not to fill those tanks past 2600 psi while at the U.S. Naval School for Underwater Swimmers in Key West, Florida. But the Navy was using these sets at 3,000 psi.

I have seen cracks in Healthways yokes. I can’t say with certainty they cracked under too high tank pressure, though.

I got the Silver from Morocco today. It's as expected. It has a bit of green verdegris inside, and there was some salt water intrusion into the second stage. Not bad. I was hoping it had the late model silicone hoses, but no. The hoseloop is intact, but there is some rot happening in the coils. This one has a fixed nozzle. It's the first one I've seen in the flesh. It's soaking in the vinegar solution now. I took a couple of photos as I took it apart, and I'll get some as I clean it up and reassemble it. I'll post them soon.

Is anyone interested in a Silver reproduction label? I'm thinking about having some made.

It costs me $50 to get 25 labels made. I can use one, Snarky needs one, and maybe spirou would want one. That's a lot of dough per, so far.
And it all depends on a graphic from our resident artist, if he's willing!
