Happy New Year Everyone! Haven't posted in a while. Been busy hunting halibut and lobster and the vintage dive gear fix'n has not been a priority. Came across a 1962 film titled "Underwater City." It was filmed on a sound stage with a blue filter for the underwater scenes. Kind of funny. For exhaust bubbles the filmmakers used soap bubbles blown up from the back of the diver. In the following clip you can see the bubbles going up then coming back down again. Voit Twin 38 tanks, but Voit regs on backwards! Here is the link to the full movie. Happy New Year everyone! Mark

And…the double hose regulators sitting down on the “diver’s” shoulders. I saw that when it first came out, and laughed out loud about the fake scenes.
Oh, and by the way, Happy New Year, everybody!

Happy New Year everyone. Those tanks look just like my Voit twin 50's. I really need to get off my butt and get them Hydro tested

A Happy New Year to all! Here's how British TV used to celebrate Hogmanay (New Year's Eve) with a dash of Scottishness in the 1960s. Today we are simply regaled instead with displays of illuminations and pyrotechnics from Sydney Harbour Bridge to Abu Dhabi, the triumph of technology over culture, which always strikes me as a poor modern substitute for the Caledonian humour, songs and dances of the past. Chacun à son goût, of course... DRW

DRW, I understood most of what he was singing... A few years back, we went to Dungannon, Ireland, where my grandfather was from originally, sort of like going visiting California and wanting to go here: en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Los_Banos,_California Wha', huh? WHY! Er-ah, sure! Anyway, I asked an old geezer where we should go, I picked up about 1/4 of what he said, then had my wife translate, her company is based in Antrum, Northern Ireland... Happy New Year my friend JB
