James and I collaborated on (that means he did all the work) a single hose second stage modded to be a double hose regulator. A 3d printed cover with a 1" exhaust hose horn was designed to replace the USD 1085 second stage bottom box, as well as a clamp to mount it to a first stage with integrated exhaust port plug, and a mouthpiece oval to 1" hose adapter. Here's the link to the original thread: vintagescuba.proboards.com/thread/5997/single-double-hose-dh-conversionPerformance is meh. Not bad, but it can be better. I'm hoping that I can convince James to adapt the 1085 parts to the MR12 second stage with the venturi tube. I think the more aggressive MR12 second stage will make this a winner. I'm still looking at how to boost the 1085's venturi. It might take reducing the jet, which will increase airstream velocity, which might pick up the venturi efficiency. I'll get out the JBWeld pretty soon to give it a whack!

Hey, that's kinda swell I have COVID-brain, so it's taking me a while to figure out what you've done. Did you buy a hose ferril crimper to make that little bit of LP-hose? JB

No, JB. I just bought a 6" LP hose!
It's a bit crimped over at the second stage end. A bent metal tube or a longer rubber hose (to allow some bending) might be a better solution. This setup will not fit on a pillar tank valve.
I was hoping for a big blast of air, but it doesn't have a strong venturi. However, it seems to provide a push that should be enough, but not overwhelming. As I said, I want to try it out in the pool before passing judgement.
James, have you tried yours in the water?

I made a stainless clamp for the mouthpiece flange/hose adapter connection, and clamped up the hoses. It's ready for its first dive. We're getting some warm weather, so pretty soon!
