This one is for Ryan. Ryan can you tell me if the C-shell was made to accomodate the twin 9ltr tanks made by Spirotechnique. I would also like to know what the other tank assembly back pack is called, that's the one with the chest mounted section, as seen in the photos of your Spirotechnique equipment, and what regulator set up it has. Hey Stuart, Sorry for the late reply. I think the 9L tanks are a bit long for the c-Shell but I will check. I just received a set. What manifold would you be using? The other housing is an exact replica of the Cousteau Hydrodynamic Housing made for the Undersea World of JYC series. They were developed in 1967. The replica is made from molds I made from real Cousteau parts. It took years to track the original pieces down. They used a chest mounted hookah style Spiro Mistral connected back to the tanks in the housing. I used a modified DA aqua-master with a lp hose routed to a conshelf 1st stage via the hookah port. It is not quite original but worked very well. Here are a couple of photos: -Ryan

Ryan, You've really outdone yourself on your Cousteau Hydrodynamic Housing replica. From your pictures it looks absolutely incredible! Thanks for sharing.

Thank's Ryan, I didn't realise that it was a reproduction. You've certainly Done a fantastic job, and I bet it's better quality than the original. Being chest mounted I suppose the regulator breathed extremely easily. Was that the theory behind the design. I'll send a picture of the tank assembly soon, it's probably the same as the one you have. If they do fit I would like you to make me one, That is ,if you do still do them. I see that they are not currently available on your website. A big congratulations . Speak to you soon. Stuart

Ryan,
I can get a double set of 3000 psi AL, 72 cubic foot, USD tanks at the LDS. Would they fit your C-Shell?

Hi Ryan Sorry for the delay in posting the picture but we have only just worked out how to do it. We just found Lindas' info on the tech page on how to upload pics. You'll see from the picture they are just the standard twins from the 60 - 70's. If you need measurements I can do that, just let me know. Regards Stuart

Hi Stuart, Sorry for the late response. I tried the 9L tanks I have that are a match for your set and unfortunately they are too long. For those interested the tanks that work best are AL63. They fit perfectly. AL 50's will work as well. I chose AL63 for the quantity of air and the bouyancy characteristics are better for diving without a bc. The problem with the Technisub RAID that the C-Shell is modeled after is the negative bouyancy. Thanks for the interest. -Ryan
