Neat picture.
The mouthpiece in the modern Mistral looks different than the ones I have seen here in the US. I have not seen one with the 45 deg elbows. It is kind of cool how that aspect of the mouthpiece is similar to the originals.

I was going to ask the same question, where did you get the mouthpiece extensions? Very neat photo, Thanks,

The mouthpiece extentions are an upgrade kit available at Aqualung : my Mistral was a 2005 model and have been retrofited . the New Mistral 2006 are now sold with thoses mouthpieces for any Mistral 2005 owners, you can ask your local Aqualung distributor to order the upgrade kit. if you have any problem finding it : PM me I'll try to give you further details cheers Jean-Michel

I should add that I have tested the new angled mouthpieces for the first time yesturday in the diving swimming pool where I use to train : and thoses are a real improvement : for divers who already tried the new Mistral you've probably notice that the hoses are in silicone which is a little bit harder than the original rubber hoses : the mouthpiece without the angled outputs use to be not so comfortable compared to vintage mouthpieces , with the retrofit it is perfect ;D Jean-Michel

Jean-Michel,
Can you get the extensions for the New Mistral mouthpiece? I may be buying that regulator, and would like to know before committing to get it.
Also, I cannot help but notice in the photo above that you are wearing the Mares Quattro Excel, probably the full-foot version. How do you like this fin? From what I see, this is as close to my "Scoop Fin" concept as any fin commercially produced.

For the Mistral : you can order the upgrade kit at any authorized Aqualung Dealer the part number of the kit is : 125977 it will fit on any New Mistral with following P/N : 125900, 125901 and 125907 (international, din or nitrox version) The kit should normally be installed by a traiend person in servicing Aqualung equipment some dive shops have officially trained employees, or they will ship the regulator to a tech facility (mine was done directly at Aqualung France) if you have problems having thoses kits at an Aqualung dealer in the US, please PM me : I have a direct contact at the aqualung factory so this might help note : normally all the New Mistral 2006 should have the kit already installed when purchasing it For the fins : yes they are Mares Quattro Excel full foot : well spotted ! : thoses are very efficient but not very confortable for me : I feel them a little bit too hard on the top of the foot for long distance so I might look for something different in the future ... may be the new Aqualung Neo with their crazy look cheers Jean-Michel
