Florida Keys diving museum founder dies

It is with great sadness that I am informing the diving community that Dr. Joe Bauer, founder of the Florida Keys diving museum and major diving helmet collector, passed away on Tuesday 03-April-2007 at his home in Ohio. He was 76 years old. Joe's contributions to the preservation of diving history and medical science are beyond words. He will surely be missed.

I didn't know of Dr. Bauer, but it is very sad whenever the community loses a historical diving figure. If anyone finds a website dedicated to the story, please share. I, for one, would like to learn more about him.
