I have an older ScubaPro (made in Italy) 3500 psi guage I've used for many years. What I ultimately did w/ it was put it in this VIP console some years ago. Set up like this everything had a very contemporary look I thought. In fact I prefer the clean look of the VIP console over the current stuff, it's a clean functional design. Just wish they did it in plain ol' black - gray was the closest they offered AFAIK. Is there any reason I should consider using a newer or different guage? Or keep on using this one ensuring it doesn't leak and continues to read pressure accurately? I noticed ScubaPro's guages seem to often come from Italy? What's the background there? Any known year range this particular SPG was sold and any additional info on this guage and it's merits or lack thereof? THanks

Well, actually consoles are not vintage and modern divers of the technical aspiration tend to look upon consoles with disfavor as well.
I have that same guage, it is brass and glass construction and very sturdy, it is not especially old, not vintage either. You can replace the spool O rings and other than that use it. It will likely out live you.

I have an older scubapro console than the one you have. The depth gauge has been replaced; but, the pressure gauge works as good as it did when new. The console I have never came with a computer; it's sort of vintage. The compass looks the same; except, on my console it is located in the middle of the console. You should see if your depth gauge will fit where the computer is and then you'll be all set to dive with it.
