Anyone have ANY idea WHAT this 'port' IS jutting from the body of the case on this Healthways reg? Ebay "VINTAGE HEALTHWAYS DOUBLE HOSE REGULATOR" Item number: 3634567677 I have NO idea what this IS - and its not in my BASIC SCUBA book...

What the photo shows is something that looks like a tire stem valve coming out the top from behind the demand diaphragm of a Healthways "Scuba" single-stage regulator.
I asked Kent Rockwell (super nice guy) of the Historical Divers Society (http://hds.org/) about that.
He said that divers used to put ambient pressure ports on their regulators so that they could run a hose to their camera case in order to maintain equalized pressure in the case. Also, he said that there was a similar arragement with a device that kept the ears dry for divers with perforated ear drums.
