Deeepdiver,
You did this right. If you got that Nemrod Snark III that was recently on ebay, you may not have to do much. That looked like a great regulator.
A couple of questions:
1. Have you done any regulator repair, maintenance, etc. before? If so, then you probably know the basics and can work on this one. If not, then maybe it would be best to send it to Dan for any inspection/repair.
2. Do you have the tools necessary to open the regulator? It doesn't take much, but you will need a guage to set the interstage pressure.

Good choice. I have a Nemrod Snark III and so does my son. They were the last company to make the double hose (except the Mistral reprise). The US Navy began to buy them when they could no longer find parts for their Aqua masters. They also bought up all the parts and few can now be found. The company has gone out of business.
The rubber is very good and chances are the hoses and valves will be fine. The mouth piece valves do not mount like the Aqua Master and others, so watch closely as you take them apart, to see if they are perished. The hose clamps are stainless, but covered with black rubber straps. When you reassemble them, give a long and steady pull to see if they hold. I serviced one and an exhaust hose slipped off. They came with a neck strap which is not needed, but the flange does seem to keep your lips a bit warmer in the winter.
Because they were the last of the vintage double regulators they are newer and more likely not to need much work, if any at all. They were sold by Seamco (Seamless Rubber Co.) in the USA, but were made in Spain. If you watch the French and Spanish eBay sites they often pop up there. There are often Nemrod J valves on eBay too, along with Nemrod back packs, so it won't take long to put together a complete set.
Ours both have Nemrod pressure gauges and you will need an adapter to use any other gauge from the HP port. Some folks like to put a LP adapter where the blow off is, but that is not a great idea unless you are using a down stream valve on it. Some actually have LP ports I am told, but mine do not. Nemrod made a great twin tank manifold. It was one piece and most have two regulator yokes.
They were advertised as a triple stage, but that was misleading. The third stage was just the intermediate blow off on the rear top of the regulator. Blow off valves are needed to vent leaks from reduction valves when up steam demand valves are used. Sometimes you get leaks there, so just tighten it down.
Flush it well, and try it on a tank, then try it is shallow water. I trust my Nemrods more than most of my regulators. It's good to soak them in fresh water after a dive, even when you were only diving in a pool. I wish I could add more. Good luck.

Pretty sure I have an old Nemrod manual. I'll look at shop today.
Others have hit on the key thing that rebuilding a regulator requires special tools and parts (some parts require replacement at each service). Even if you are not going to tear it apart, it's fun to have a manual to see what is inside your reg.
If you still want one, I'll send you a scanned pdf

Hey thanks for the quick response everyone. Cnotthoff, I would really appreciate it if you do have that manual available that would be great. On another note I have torn the regulator completely apart and cleaned all of the corrosion off the interior and such. (By the way the reg is in great condition but, the hoses are cracked and the mouthpiece is torn, also some corrosion on the interior). I hooked it up to a tank before i tore into it and it seemed to work fine breathing wise, but there was a constant leak resembling a high pressure creep in a newer reg. I do have quite a bit of experience building and rebuilding my superlite 27 dive helmet and kirby morgan reg. so i am pretty comfortable digging in.
Any info will help though because i am new to the "old double hose reg" but excited to learn. Thanks again for your quick responses and i look foward to learning more from all of you soon.
P.S. Do you think it will be hard to find a new mouthpiece? The original nemrod mouthpiece is not useable for diving and I have not seen any on this website. Aftermarket or original.

deeepdvr,
You may want to put US Divers hoses and mouthpiece on the Snark III. It won't be original, but the regulator will perform better. Nemrod had some pretty narrow openings in the mouthpiece.

I've scanned manual along with color pic from catalog. If you want a PDF of Nemrod Snark III manual, email me at cnotthoff@hotmail.com. I'll attach the PDF. It's about 10 Mb. Let me know if I need to break it up to stay under size limits for your email.
