Here it is, courtesy of John Ratliff -- the DA Aquamaster section from the US Navy Diving Manual, March 1970, in PDF format. It's a pretty big file -- could take up to 1/2 hour to download if you are on dial-up. DOWNLOAD NOW

Thanks Linda for putting the link up and thanks to John for providing the file. As a new Aquamaster owner and a newbie to two hose regulators in general, I've found it very helpful.

Hi Linda,
It looks like this download is working again. That's great. You might want to put a "sticky" on this one, and the other PDF download on BCs, so that they won't disappear with new topics coming up.

I'm having trouble downloading this manual. I get an Adobe window which says, "The file is damaged and could not be repaired". Am I the only one having problems with this at this time?

Duckbill,
I had the same problem the first time I tried to download it today. I am at work, and on a Windows XP machine, using Adobe Reader 6.0. The second time I tried, I was able to open the file, but not save it to my desktop ("The document could not be saved. This operation is not permitted"). This appears to be a problem of Adobe Reader 6.0. I was able to test the printing, by printing page 3. So try again, and see if it works.

John, Duckbill, et al,
Try this:
right button click Save Target as...
Pick the location on your hard drive and the file will download. Then open with Adobe Acrobat or Acroread. If done so with Acrobat 5.0 and 6.0 with no problems.
Sometimes when files won't launch and display correctly, use the right button on the mouse to go bypass and simply save the file, then open with the appropriate software.

Well, I had Adobe Reader 6.0, so I downloaded Adobe Reader 7.0 with the updates. Now, no matter what I do to try to open Adobe 7.0 I get "There was an error while loading the plug-in 'Accessibility.api'. The plug-in failed to initialize." and "AcroRd32.exe has generated errors and will be closed by Windows. You will need to restart the program."
I have shut down and rebooted several times now with no improvement. Will I need to reinstall Adobe Reader 7.0? There were a couple of problems while downloading the first time which I needed to move through in order to finish the download. I suspect those interruptions were the culprit or indications of the problem.
Do I uninstall 7.0 first before attempting to reinstall?

Sounds like you should definitely uninstall 7.0. You can check this page at Adobe for minimum system requirements... www.adobe.com/products/acrobat/acrrsystemreqs.htmlYou should probably go back to using 6.0. Sometimes newer isn't better.... (duh, I am talking to a vintage diver ) Did you try just saving the target file like Ralph suggested? That's a good idea, too.

When I installed 7.0, 6.0 was automatically uninstalled. I'm not sure how I could get it back. I did save the file, but it only shows to be 42.5 KB which I know can't be right. Oh well, I'll get it working one way or another.
By the way, Linda, could you get a message to Dan and let him know the Princeton Tec manual copy arrived safely in today's mail, and "Thankyou very much!"? I really appreciate that.

O.K. I uninstalled 7.0 and reinstalled it without a hitch. Now when trying to open the file, it stalls out after a couple hundred KB. Saving the target and trying to open it from my hard drive shows that the "file is damaged". So now I think the problem is on your end. My other PDF files open with no problems with the newly installed 7.0
Thanks for the help in resolving my initial problems. I'm looking forward to being able to view this Aqualung file.

The file opens fine on my computer, but I will upload it again to the server (thus overwriting the old copy) and you can see if that works for you. Sorry for all the trouble!

Linda, Thanks for your efforts. I've been using the Adobe Reader 7.0 today to open all sorts of pdf files, but something about this one won't allow me to get it opened. That's O.K., I've just about finished reading Fred Roberts' 2nd edition of "Basic SCUBA" while waiting for Adobe downloads yesterday evening!
