Proboards (our free forum host) upgraded the software here, as I am sure you are all aware of already... And logging in anew requires a special registration key (the first time only), plus entering your birth date in your profile. And so far, NO ONE has emailed me for help getting back in! Not that there is anything wrong with that! Please, anyone, if you are having trouble, let me know and I will help! But I just wanted to say I am happy that the upgrade has been fairly "seamless" and not disruptive of the discussions here.... I'm so proud of all of you for "carrying on"... ;D P.S. I think, so far, my additional smileys are no longer working, but I'll try to fix that as soon as I can.

Linda: I had to gasp, then laugh, as you sent me two activation keys and the first one said it was invalid. The second one got me in. Im a novice with this modern computer stuff. You have been very patient with me. Many thanks. Chuck ;D

Bev fixed our AOL spam filter and I still can't log on to your site, so the problem must be on your end. You know the old saying, if it ain't broke don't fix it.

If it's on this end, why are you the only one? Quit trying to be different! Proboards (our free host here) upgraded their software... We had no say in the matter. Like I said before, try using an alternate email address... I know you said you didn't have one, but isn't this one yours? vintagedivers-owner@yahoogroups.com Another idea.... if you don't want to try the yahoo address, and you've changed your spam filters, try adding nobody@proboards.com to your Address Book or list of 'acceptable e-mail addresses'.The problem here, Frans, is that AOL blocks emails from Proboards. That is it, plain and simple.

Hi Ya Vintagediver
Had the same probs as you I'm with AOL and did the spam thing with no luck. If you have a yahoo address go with that or create a new one. I was back within about 3mins after hrs trying to sort AOL
GOOD LUCK

If anyone wants a free Google email account - aka a GMail account, I have 50 invites just sitting around doing nothing... Send me a message with an email account (I assume even AOL would work for this) and I will send you an "invitation" to get a Gmail account. This would probably get around the Proboard/AOL thing.
All you have to do is click on the little file folder thingy just to the left of this writing, and above the date I joined...

That's a very generous offer, guys... it's not easy to get GMail!
Thanks for posting that. :-)

I think I tried to register but it did not work, I thought it was perhaps my new laptop being a different source than my still functioning but apparently no longer registered desk top. As much as everyone hates AOL most everyone in my family, my wife's family and all of our friends are AOL as are all my emails, ebays, message boards, eboards etc thus abandoning aol is not so simple and not without a downside. This new board does not allow aol to register? Oh well, what shall I ever do. Nemrod aka James
