I am new to this board and I started diving with Jack Blocker in 1963 and helped him teach diving before I went into the Navy and after I came back and before I left MN in 1970. I still have my original divers card from Jack along with my PADI card as I left before I got my instructors endorsement. I now live in Pahrump NV with my wife. I remember a lot about Jack and really liked him a great deal. I have some slides of a dive at Christmas Lake New Years Day around 1963- 1964 that I will up load as soon as I get them digitized. If there is any one out there that remembers me I would be interested in hearing from you. My nickname was "Sticky" as my last name was the same as a glue manufacture "Le Page's Glue".

It's nice to here from another diver who dates back to my early days of diving, but I was a soldier and my dad was the sailor in the family. I instructed too, but in 1960 there were no national certifications here in Australia. The first single hose SCUBA school was here and there are pictures of it in the gallery of pictures. You might like to look under 'community' above. Steve

Hi Sticky Dan, Welcome to the VSS forum. I hope you find some of your old chums here. In the meantime, you might enjoy browsing the VSS store. There's a lot of neat stuff. Also be sure to check out the on-line museum Dan set up. - Terry

Hi Sticky,
Uncertain if you'll find anyone here you knew; but, there are alot of divers here for you to meet! I found a lot of my old dive buddies through military.com Some I haven't heard from sence I was stationed in Panama in the Navy. Found my dive instructor through PADI. If others you knew were also certified PADI you can send names to PADI and if they have current info on the other divers they will contact them with your information. Then your friends might just get in touch with you. (My AOW instructor is now in Germany; that's how I contacted him). Maybe you will find people you know here.
How far are you from Lake Tahoe, NV? Do you dive there? Our dive club was thinking about doing a dive there.
Robert
