I just bought the DVD called "Swirling Dark Water: A Century of Diving in Oregon" on EBay. It looks like it's going to be great. Anybody own this movie and is it worth the $25 I just dropped down?

I hope you enjoy the video as I produced it. Doing the research was a lot of fun and I met some very interesting people. I've been diving in Oregon since 1957 and got to touch base with people I knew a long time ago and meet some I'd never heard of.

I just received it a few days ago and I enjoyed it. I especially liked the scene where the dive shops were more of a hobby for those who operated them. I also liked the scene with the women divers. I think it's great they succeeded in proving "the boys" wrong in their ability to dive. It would be nice if more of this stuff was out there. In fact I would love to do something similar in regards to Washington State. A book or even a website perhaps! Of course it may take a long time since I am in college right now.

Swirling Dark Water is great! I have a copy. Sid did an excellent portrayal of divers. My current book, Deep Dark and Dangerous: On the Bottom with the Northwest Salvage Divers is sold worldwide. It about the hardhat divers from Oregon and Washington. Craig Lesley helped me polish my manuscript before publication. One noted Northwest author, Walt Morey, was a diver before he was a writer. I have his story as well and many others in my book.
