I thought everyone should know that there is a brand new edition of Jacque Cousteau's The Silent World out, and available to anyone who wants it. I saw it at Barnes and Nobel this yesterday. It is a hard-bound edition with a new Introduction by Anthony Brandt, and it is being published by the National Geographic Society as a National Geographic Adventure Classics Series book. Here is the link: search.barnesandnoble.com/The-Silent-World/Jacques-Yves-Cousteau/e/9780792267966/?itm=2If you don't have a copy, this would be a good one to get. It does have the black and white photos, but the color section of the original edition is not there. But as a book, it is a very good read. John

I tried to read this book as I got an original copy, and found it nearly imposable; this really bummed me out too! I'm pretty dyslexic, Mr. Cousteau should have had someone translate his work, because so much of what he was saying was not coming across; I had to reread lines over and over to understand sometimes. It just wore me out. When I was a kid, HE WAS MY HERO; I wanted to be a marine biologist too: this was in the first and second grade! So being dyslexic, I became an artist instead! Jaybird
