My wife and I watched this last night: www.youtube.com/watch?v=gLANIx4MP50It's part of a film called "The Mermaids of Tiburon": what's cool about it is you get to see some pretty cool old diving gear! I'm pretty sure the hero uses a USD Mistral, but the bad guys use Healthways single hose stuff and a mini-sub! I gotta say it's neat to see something on screen that's not Voit: vive la différence! Thanks so much for this post. I remember when the making of this film appeared in Skin Diver but I have never seen it before. I watched all six segments on you tube. It was quite an imaginitive film for its time. And, you got to give the actresses credit for their part in the film. Even the Southern California waters can be cold. Thanks again.

My wife and I got a copy of Psychotronica Vol. III: www.amazon.com/Psychotronica-Vol-Mermaids-Tiburon-Bewitched/dp/B00120TJF4/ref=sr_1_3?ie=UTF8&s=dvd&qid=1268324687&sr=8-3Aaaaaaaaaaaah! It was recut twice, and turned into a softcore, yaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaawn! Nothing exciting unless you're a teenage boy; the sad part is, is that nearly all the good footage, of the mermaids with their tails, was removed so it's just topless women doing a poor job of swimming. It made my wife nervous watching, as they weren’t the best simmers; um, I know, that kind of actress isn’t known for her abilities under water. The photographer/director John Lamb is amazing. We recognized his work immediately: Voyage to the Bottom of the Sea, Sea Hunt, etc. What a shame he got relegated to z grade soft core stuff later.....total waste of talent. The good news is that the disc also has the original cut in the extras, although it’s in B/W. WOW, I just love all the Healthways stuff. Jaybird P.S. Here's some lobby cards:
