Hi I am relatively new to vintage diving, having 2 mid '60s double hose regs, both USD, 1 RAM and 1 AM. I have been diving single hose for about 7 years and hold a Dive Master qualification. Most of my diving is around islands off the Western Australia coast, local wrecks and in our local Swan River. I also have been going overseas into Asia on dive trips for the last few years as well. My RAM has been re built and I use it on shallower shore dive along our coast. I get quite a buzz using it and watching the faces on my fellow divers. Hope to get the AM re built soon.
I enjoy reading this forum.
Regards from downunder.

Welcome to vintage diving, its good to see another Aussie here. There are others in your neck of the woods. I don't know if he is on this forum, but over at vintagedoublehose.com is Steve, he goes by Yank Downunder.

Hi Dale I have spoken with the YankDownUnder a while ago, he live on the other side of Australia. He has put me onto others in Western Australia who also dive with vintage and hardhat gear. Haven't caught up with them yet. Looking forward to a dive on the weekend and might get out the RAM and give it another go. I have been waiting for silicone hoses and mouth piece to arrive. The originals cleaned up well but still have a bit of taste in them over a dive. A photo of my RAM is attached.

Peter,
First, welcome here. We have a good time discussing the vintage diving topics--regulators especially.
Second, man that's a nice-looking RAM. And--you are diving in Australia. I really want to get onto the Great Barrier Reef some year, but it's not in the cards for the immediate future. Anyway, welcome aboard.
John
