These are Mark IX fins from AMF Swimaster. I enjoyed diving them for many years, but have moved on. I hope someone who appreciates classic diving equipment will enjoy these fins. I'm going to go out on a limb and make a guess that these were sold at least a half decade ago? But I have to wonder if they are still for sale? Talk about going back to the past on this one...

Guessing "one size fits most"? According to the 1971 and 1972 Swimaster catalogues, the "Mark IX" Fin fitted ALL ADULT SIZES. From 1973 onwards, no mention of sizes at all in the catalogues, just the point that the Mark IX could be "used with boots." |

Gee-whiz, Mark's got Voitfeaver! He has all the symptoms... I had a touch of it for a while, but mine completely cleared up. Somehow I got Divairitis, a virulent strain of Waysosis (Healthways-Sportsways), before that though: doctors seem to think that there's a congenital marker in there that makes you very susceptible to obtuse dive gear. I'm certain I got it from ol' Ratliff, I know he's a carrier, thanks pal, you'll get yers...  JB |

No, but I do want a pair of Mark IX and Mark X (Brown) fins someday, so thought I'd see what is up with these?

Hey Mark,
I'm out of town right now. When I get back, I'll stick those fins in the mail.
I did paint the ribs with orange paint one Halloween for my penguin costume. who's says you can't dance with your fins on.
