Thanks for the post. I love these old diving films, but this one in particular has an amazing amount of mis-information in it. The underwater shots look a lot like Silver Springs. But whaty the heck, it's still fun to watch.

Lowell Thomas was always known for sensationalism. I don't think that he meant to misinform. He was not a diver himself.

If you ever get a chance to go to Tarpon Springs, you won't regret it. The whole town is a time capsule of diving history. I have been there a few times and would go back in an instant. The town is just as it was in the 20's. Watch "Beyond the twelve mile reef" before you go.

Be sure and visit the sponge diving museum while your there. Some of the displays haven't been touched for over 50 years. ha.
