I thought you all would like to have a good chuckle. My sister is 51 yrs old and wrote this poem for me. She has hated water her whole life. She is not interested in my diving, nor ever has been. Here you are. Deep Dark Sea Gazing into the unknown, the deep dark sea, Pulls me towards the depths of something I don't want to see. What could be so darn nasty that would make me want to flee? Just something looking fishy in the deep dark sea. Dark forboding shapes that want to bite what's hanging down, and lunch that's floating past them such as people who had drowned. Perhaps a person shoved out from a passing aeroplane? Or maybe other items falling in there like the rain. Sinking to the bottom where they rot and fade away, Waiting for adventurers to discover them one day. Hauling cameras and lights into areas unknown, Hoping for that final find that makes them world reknown. I don't care how beautiful the dpths of oceans are, Or that those stringy tentacles are pretty as as a star. Waving green and weedy slime, laughing in my face, Hoping to entrap me in their folds of ivy lace. I like it here in MIdwest land where hils and valleys flow, Where corn stands straight in rows and soybeans take their time to grow. Water runs in streams and tastes as good as from the tap, And all you hear along the shoreline is a gentle whap. Our country is a great on giving everything to me, Just so long as I can stay out of the deep dark sea. Judy Adams 2003

:DI like it! It's interesteing to get a different perspective. I've never felt anything but, drawn to to Ocean my entire life. I sometimes forget that not everyone feels the same way.
