Well, I believe that Nick is using an Italian Reg called the GSD? It is very unusual and I have never seen one in person. I have only seen one for sale on EBAY. I don't recall what she used, but I have a copy of the movie and perhaps I will double check. The reg NICK used was not supposed to be very good from what I have ehard and as a result never really took of here in the USA. Can you tell me are you on Jutland? If yes do you live near Sindal or Hjorring? Farvel Rob realivan@hotmail.com

Hello Per, The regulaotors you are enquiring about in "The Deep" were the GSD Spinnaker B that was used by Nick Nolte, and the Piel that Jackie Bisset used. The Spinnaker was marketed and imported soley by "Richard's Aqualung Center" in Times Square, NY up until the late eighties, early nineties, and then went out of business. The Piel Im sorry to say, I know very little about.
I have a practically new Spinnaker B that I have set up on a tank and taken into my local dive store for the techs to look at. The intermediate pressure between the 1st and 2nd stage is 60psi, wich is really very low, but having said this, it breathes like a dream! The air is deliverd in a rough sort of way, and not smooth by any means, but it does what it was meant to do, and does it well. It has dual diaphrams on the second stage that can be independantly adjusted, and can deliver huge amounts of air if needed. I plan on diving it at some point on a twin set I have with a double reg take off on the manifold. Ill mount a MK VII\Pilot on one and the Spinnaker on the other and run a test dive.
I hope this information is of use to you.
Alan
