A few months back I got a copy of Sea Hunt, published in 1960 by Whitman. I was really looking forward to reading this as I write children's books. Here's the cover: This is undoubtedly the worst book I’ve ever seen. It’s completely over punctuated and has so many run on and incomplete sentences it’s totally unreadable. I keep it by my bed when I can’t sleep: it’s almost as good as a sleeping pill. I guess they were so bent on getting on the whole scuba thing in the late 1950’s and early 60’s, they didn’t bother with an editor. Jaybird

Haha, Jaybird, you don't need sleeping pills anymore! I hope there is interesting pictures inside at least?

No, the cover is really the only good part of the book. You'd think with something like Sea Hunt that at least they'd get a good illustrator to do the drawing on the inside, nope! As my wife would say, "Boring as spit..." To tell you how bad it is, it has sentences that begin with "and". Oh well, perhaps it being kind of hard to find is a good thing, because a child shouldn't really read this book: they might think that's how you're supposed to write! Jaybird
