Was his instructor this Jon Hardy - The Magazine guy.? I think he had more to do with Scuba Diving Magazine than is listed here, but I'd have to research some of it. articles.latimes.com/2001/sep/09/local/me-43925Do you have a photo of your brother in his dive gear? It would be a cool idea to frame a dive photo of him with his C-cards.

Well yes after reading his bio thats his instructor.I never knew any of this -thanks for the article. Back then the LA county card and YMCA card was a coveted card and Naui was just getting going I have a small 4x4 with him his gear and some abs
On a side note my brother worked a few summers at camp fox which is mentioned in the obit (Born in Glendale, Hardy began scuba diving as a teenager in the early 1950s. He later taught scuba diving through the Glendale YMCA at Camp Fox on Santa Catalina Island and for the L.A. County Diving Program.) Mark

Jon Hardy was a student in the first class to go through the Santa Barbara City College Marine Diving Technology Program, 1968-1970. I was in the second class and got to work with Jon on a school project for the California fish and game department.
