Hi I was rummaging through my "old" old gear bag looking for costume accessories for Halloween ( I decided that the vintage wetsuit in there wouldn't do for the costume, I couldn't breathe and looked pregnant in it. Since I am male that is a bad thing. I also figured that I couldn't go as a pregnant diver (the male thing aside) since you aren't supposed to dive while pregnant or drink for that matter and I was planning on wearing it to a party. Plus, since there would probably be a keg there, the suit might be hard to get on or off as needed but I did consider the axiom about there being 2 kinds of wetsuit divers- those that pee in the suits and those that lie about it)
OK, back to the question. I was looking at an old Seatec horsecollar that I have and noticed a strange plastic fitting on the "back side" of the BC. On the left side of it is a CO2 fitting, but on the right side of the BC is a plastic fitting that looks like a place to attach a regulator yoke, with an o-ring and every thing. Is this for an inflator bottle like the old fenzys? I was wondering this since between the two fittings is a small sleeve that looks like it would hold a very small tank.
Any ideas?

A few ideas.
Might check Sea tec catalogs for part # TD 1002-3D which was near the top of the line BC. It was sold with a auto inflator which attaches to the front of the BC on the right, and on the left there is a CO 2 inflator.
The price for this complete unit as listed on page 1 of Sea Tecs seperate price sheet was $74.95. However on the price sheet it lists the unit as having 2 CO2s.
The inflation assembly, identified as "Quick release assembly Delux inflator" was also sold seperately as part # SKV-73099 and listing on the same page for 34.95.
I have had a very close personal relation ship with the founder and for a number of years, beginning in 1957. I consulted and field tested the new and prototype units. I do not recall any discussions on a seperate HP inflation unit, however this certainly does not mean that Sea tec didn't possibly make one.
Seatec is still in business under new ownership. They can and will still repair/repace the plastic interior BC bags for a very nominal fee.
Currently they are only making BCs for the military, which I understand they will sell to the public. I some what recall that US Divers did offer a seperate inflation HP cylinder in the early to mid 1970s. However that was not the question and I do not have the time to research it to verify.
Hopes that this bit of information helps!
Watch out for the kiddies tonight!
