When I was at my LDS the other day, the owner mentioned that when you put a new HP-diaphragm in it will compress between the pads and need readjustment of the IP after a while. I've noticed this too with LP-seats, "Huh, what the... that's a brand new see fer crying out loud, why is it leaking... grumble, grumble, grumble!" Now I know, and hopefully some of our newer friends won't be too surprised when the IP isn't right or the second stage starts leaking mysteriously! All of my regs as of quite recently developed a very slight leak; well, maybe because they were all rebuilt around the same time--SNORT! Jaybird

I keep my newly overhauled regulators on tank pressure over night and readjust the next day for just that reason. No dive shop that I know of does that. I believe they often detune the second stage to make up for such subsequent changes in IP- the quick and easy way.

Thanks. I should add that if you do that you only need to have the valve cracked just enough to maintain pressure behind any slow leaks, not full on- just in case something does let loose in the middle of the night!

I opened the knob, then closed it: seems to be holding pressure just fine! Yeah, I sure wouldn't want to hear it go "POP-WOOOOOSH!" in the middle of the night, and my cat doesn't want to hear it either, as he sleeps in the back room where I have the reg set up right now. I'll play with it more to morrow adjusting etc.

Michael,
Both of my wetsuits also shrunk! Maybe I left them out to dry too long ... in the sun! Gotta be what happened. Very hard to zip them up. Maybe they are getting older?

A cat would have a heart attack!!!!!! Yep, and they can also jump vertically six feet into the air and come down ten feet away, disappearing into seemingly nothingness when a full tank valve is opened.......

So, I've noticed when I turn on the air on my Calypso-VI, I get a pretty loud pop on one of the second stages, but seems to be fine: what's causing this?
