Between 1953/1957 "US Divers" marketed in their catalogues a "Twin Hose" unit ("S" Model. ) solely for "Hookah" use, are there any drawings and or pixs showing details of construction? "La Spirotechnique" also produced a surface supply unit "Nargile" would interested in comparing the internals two regulators.

I may have some descriptions in some of my old catalogs, and I know that these were used in at least two National Geographic articles from the 1960s or 1970s. These are Aquamaster regulators with the plug in the yolk, and a harness for the Hookah adaptation. National Geographic used them on an underwater archeological survey in that one article.

What Adair is showing is definitely the DS Hookah Regulator and the hoses, etc. But it does not show the harness. That was in my Central Skindiver's catalog, which does not have a date on it. But because it was sent to my Roseburg, Oregon apartment, that means it was somewhere around 1978/79. Here is the harness that should come with this setup: John

John,
I'm curious.... The first advertisemewnt shows a DA Navy reg, which did not have a hooka port. Your harness shows an Aqua Master or a RAM.(Both have the hooka port)....
So was the "S" setup also a different first stage for the reg, or was it a tank valve with a long hose?
BTW, I do not have a 1st stage plug for DAs or RAMs, but I do have an oxygen fitting that will allow me to run a 75 ft. hose from a tank on the dock to a harness mounted reg. I can keep the air turned off until needed for bail out.

Sitkadiver,
I don't know; I have not seen the "S" regulator, and it seems to be before the DA Aquamaster was developed. So I don't know whether it has a first stage or not.
Concerning the first stage plug, there used to be an aluminum one, but I don't know if it is still available somewhere.

Using the "US Divers" catalogues as reference the first DA regulator with a "Hookah" spigot was marketed in 1957/58 which superseded the "S" type unit circa 1953/57 (Surface Supply Only) Fingers crossed one just might be found.
