Vintage Article in Diver Training Magazine - Sea Hunt Jerry called and told me about a vintage diving article in this month's Free Issue of Diver Training Magazine. It's the December 2014 issue you can pick up free at your local dive shop. - The title is "What We Have Lost". The author recounts his 35 hour diving certification course from the late 1960's with an emphasis on the fitness requirements and emergency situation training and drills. His conclusions were that the tough training of the past was due to the difficulty of diving in those days. - I think its pretty neat to see an article like this in a modern diving magazine. Most modern divers have no idea what it was like in the beginning years. And they need to know about it before they can respect it.

Wow, thats great to hear. Glad Jerry made it back safe and sound too I sometimes wish I had an LDS... The store in Marquette closed a couple years ago and now my LDS is 180 miles south Sounds like a pretty cool article. Has anyone here been reading about the success some folks have been having with a vintage SCUBA course through PADI? This might just grow legs and become more popular! Don
