I was just looking through my old NAUI Instructor's Manual (the Blue Book), and found a page with a number of films by the U.S. Navy. I tried finding them on the You Tube site, and went down the list until I found one--Sixty Days Beneath the Sea - Tektite 1. I thought you'd enjoy seeing it instead of the bad weather (if you're on the East Coast right now).

Thanks SeaRat... I didn't know much about Tektite and was wondering how deep they went. Apparently this Tektite I was 50 feet deep for 2 months.

"Dang, we're gone two stinkin' months an' all the darn fashions have changed!" I love these old films as you get a small window into what people actually wore, like those awesome-crazy slacks the lady was wearing, looked like huge burgundy and white plaid bell-bottoms. Also, did'ja notice their regs. of choice: Jaybird

Really love watching these films. I'd love to see the T-Shirts they had on at the start of the film, weird...but I like to see details like that for some reason. I recongnised Aqua-Lung tanks, but did not recognise the "shield" decal on the doubles. Thanks Mark

OK...Going to guess that the "shield" shaped decals might be Voit "Swimmaster" tanks? Mark

The aquanauts that occupied tektite were definately wearing Voit tanks and I saw at least to good shots of the MR-12. At about 8:40 there's a good roll of film that shows a USD Calypso hanging off the diver - obviously his octopus. Anyway, fun to watch - thanks for sharing John.
